My Vintage Apple Mac Battlestation – and Macintosh Games Collection
Published: Wednesday, 28th February 2024
I moved house a couple of years ago and had all my Macintosh stuff boxed away in storage for a long time. I set my PowerMac G4 MDD and Power Macintosh 5320 up last summer, though, and started to slowly get back into retrocomputing.
However, what has prompted this post is the warm sense of satisfaction I’m currently bathed in having finally built a bookcase and taken my Macintosh games out of storage to display in their rightful place.

Macintosh Big-Box Game Collection
I built this collection of Mac games up over about a decade’s worth of eBaying, grabbing most of them for small sums but also splashing out good money for some (I think Spaceward Ho! was the most I’ve spent on a Macintosh game, £90 iirc…). There’s around 120 titles on that bookcase, I’ll need to get more shelving installed, as the bookcase is already full and I still have at least another dozen or so still in a box…

It’s been quite a few years since I last bought a big-box Macintosh game and I had long-thought those days were over. But, then again… The latest addition to my collection is Cosmic Osmo, bought for a few pounds on eBay last week. So, I’m back on the collecting trail!
